You’ve booked your first appointment, perused the Internet for different styles, and now have several ideas in your head. So what do we do when you’re unsure of what you’re looking for? Easy! That’s our job and it’s what we love to do! Still unsure? Let us try to cover a few ways we hope to make your appointment as memorable as possible.

1. Have Fun!
First and foremost, make the best of your appointment. Have fun with it and remember you will look beautiful on your wedding day no matter what dress you choose. Take a deep breath and know that you are in good hands.

2. Keep an open mind.
About 90% of the brides that walk through our doors have a style in mind of what they’re looking for. Almost all of them fall in love with a completely different style!

How can that be? It looked perfect online!
What we see in pictures is not always an accurate portrayal of what you’ll see in person. In plain terms, like any clothing, what looks stunning online, may not fit exactly how you’d picture it to. Be open to trying on different silhouettes, necklines, strap/sleeve options.

We ask all of our brides to not judge a dress on the hanger.

3. What’s My Budget?
Ultimately your budget is what you can comfortably spend. We do have dresses to accommodate most price points but keep in mind that alterations and undergarments must be considered a separate expense when factoring your budget.

4. Who should I bring?
While we always want to share the experience with those we love, we want to keep the focus where it should be: On the bride. If you feel as though you may get overwhelmed or confused with several opinions, it may be best to bring one or two people you are close with and who can help you to envision your wedding day. We do have the space to accommodate several guests but it will ultimately be up to you on what your comfortable with.

5. What should I bring?
Good things to bring to your appointment are a strapless bra, neutral colored undergarments, shoes (if you have a pair you are planning to wear), and a smile (you’re never fully dressed without one, right?). We do have shoes if you wish and we have a pedestal which may work better for some brides.

6. What if I don’t like a dress?
That’s OK! Not every dress will be YOUR dress. Be honest with us and tell us what you like and don’t like about a dress. The more information you give us, the better we are able to help you find your dress!

To kind of wrap up, just remember that your appointment is supposed to be a wonderful start to your wedding planning process. Take a deep breath, live in the moment, and of course have fun!
