A Barbie Bride Love Story- How Molly Met her “Ken”

Molly and Ken met back in 2010 in the small town of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Torrential downpour left Molly stranded at a movie theater a few miles away from campus. She called her friend to get her home safe and dry. Little did she know, in the passenger seat of her friend’s car, was her knight in shining armor sitting patiently and ready to change the trajectory of her life. Later that evening, Molly and Ken bonded over music and beer, and from that point forward they were inseparable.

Eight years later, underneath a beautiful waterfall at Villa Pamphilli in Italy, Ken asked Molly to be his forever. Molly, of course, said “Yes!”

Molly and Ken chose to do two ceremonies, a Cambodian Khmer ceremony and a traditional ceremony. With the Khmer ceremony taking place the day before, the couple selected the beautiful Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, MA and exchanged their vows on June 8th, 2019. They chose this venue for its beautiful riverside terrace and ballroom with floor to ceiling windows facing the Charles river. Molly and Ken always loved a city view, so the Royal Sonata was a perfect match for this perfect match. Their vision was an elegant, ultra-formal wedding and they achieved just that!

Molly and Ken decided to do a first look and read handwritten letters to each other back to back. Their perfect first look moment included the red strings around their wrists from the Khmer ceremony from the day before. Their guests tied the red strings on their wrists to bestow their personal blessings and Molly and Ken had to keep them on for 3 days as part of the tradition. A perfect way to “tie” the two beautiful days together.

Molly’s beautiful bridal gown, accessories, and bridesmaids were all styled by Ve’Lace Bridal. Molly chose a super sophisticated and elegant gown with a classic lace cathedral veil. Molly selected the modern Bluestone color for her bridesmaids.
